Mahaylia Latoya Hines
Associate

Mahaylia Latoya Hines is an associate at Oppenheim + Zebrak, LLP, where her practice focuses on the firm’s copyright and other intellectual property and litigation matters.

Before joining O+Z, Mahaylia was a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP , where she worked on high-stakes cases involving data breaches, commercial litigation, and intellectual property. Her experience spans across various sectors, where she has provided strategic counsel on complex legal disputes and regulatory matters.

Mahaylia is also deeply committed to the arts community and the principle of pro bono service. She has served as an associate board member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA), providing vital legal education and services to artists and creative organizations. During her time with VLA, she contributed to the protection of creative works and helped navigate the intersection of law and the arts.

Mahaylia earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Howard University School of Law, where she served as a staff editor of the Howard Law Journal and as a student attorney in the Intellectual Property Patent Clinic. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Florida International University, double majoring in International Relations and Political Science. Mahaylia is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and is admitted to practice in New York.
