Jenny Pariser
Partner
Jenny Pariser is a partner at Oppenheim + Zebrak, LLP in the New York office. She has extensive experience handling complex litigation matters, with particular emphasis in intellectual property, content protection, digital media, and entertainment matters. Jenny has been at the forefront in developing and shaping online copyright law for over three decades.
Prior to joining O+Z, Jenny served as head of litigation at the Recording Industry Association of America and at Sony Music where she oversaw all litigation matters including significant lawsuits against online pirates Napster, Grokster, LimeWire, and MP3.com, as well as many other cases involving copyright, trademark, breach of contract, false advertising, and royalty disputes. Jenny has testified in several jury trials as a music industry executive and brings that understanding to her practice. She is particularly skilled at counseling executives in avoiding business risk. Jenny also spent nine years at the Motion Picture Association where she worked extensively on copyright policy matters and ran the DMCA notice and takedown program (the “Copyright Alert System”). Earlier in her career, Jenny was a senior litigator at two leading firms in New York, representing Fortune 500 companies in state and federal courts around the country and is experienced in all aspects of litigation.
Jenny served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Charles Tenney in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She graduated from New York University Law School where she was a member of the Law Review and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She lectures extensively on copyright topics including at the Copyright Society of the USA, the American and New York Bar Associations, the Practicing Law Institute, and various law schools. She also serves on several non-profit boards and runs a program that recycles toys for underprivileged children.
